Breathing heavily, Jake stumbled over a pile of rubble. Looking up, he saw the building that it had probably fallen from.

He sat down for a moment to catch his breath, it was the middle of the day and the zombies seemed to come out in droves in the evening and night, so he figured that he was safe.

Taking the canteen off of his hip, he unscrewed the cap and took a few sips, trying to conserve the precious liquid.

Putting the lid back on, he slid down the pile carefully as he pulled a small loaf of bread from his jacket pocket, it was still fairly warm. As he took a bite from it, he made sure to draw his Beretta M92 pistol from his hip holster.

Fantastic... Am I the only one left?

Kyo spied at the fresh meat down below. He readied to pounce and, with practiced ease attacked the creature. He unintentionally knocked its weapon away as he searched it. That scent!

He finally found the precious item and stole it. Eating it right out of the flesh things hand.

"WHOA!" Jake bellowed as he fell backwards, pistol flying out of his hand. Making sure that his head didn't hit the ground.

Jerking his hand away from the hunter, he dropped the bread.

Scrambling backwards, he watched as it devoured the bread, "What the?" He said under his breath, voice hoarse from barely talking for days or weeks, he couldn't remember now.

Kyo turned to the fleshy. He tackled it, though not to the ground, and started sniffing for more.

(I imagine this would tickle quite a bit XD)

Jake started to laugh, though it came out in croaks.

Pushing the hunter off of him, he looked at it for a moment, "Hungry?"

Thinking for a moment, he pulled another small loaf from his pocket and offered it to him.

Again Kyo ate out of the fleshy's hand, though this time slower.

Gingerly, Jake put his hand on the hunter's head while he held a third loaf in his other hand. He had plenty of bread as he took refuge in a bakery a few nights ago.

[Vilkas]

Kyo looked at the fleshy and growled "K--... Keh-oh... Keh-oh"

"Ke... Kyo? Is that your name?"

[Vilkas]

Kyo stood up and jerkily nodded. He pointed at himself and repeated "Keh-oh"

"So it is your name. Kyo... I like it."

Walking away for a moment, he retrieved his pistol and threw another piece of bread to Kyo.

[Vilkas]

Kyo exclaimed happily "breed!" He caught it in his mouth and munched on it as he followed the fleshy. He liked it... what was he supposed to call it?

"My name's Jake." He wondered if Kyo could fully understand him.

He smiled, he actually had a friend now. A Hunter to say the least.

[Vilkas]

"J... Joe... Jaaack" Kyo attempted to mimic this call as best he could. Suddenly, Kyo started droning "tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk" He looked around carefully. Bompa (Boomer) was close.

"What's up?"

When he heard the sloshing and gurgling sounds, he froze, "Crap." Putting away his pistol, he swung his rifle around so that it sat on his hip.

He hated the fat idiots, they make one hell of a mess.

[Vilkas]

"Bompa daya" (Boomer there) Kyo whispered as he nodded towards a gas station.

(Kyo can't pronounce 'th' words. For him 'th' comes out as 'd' and 'er' comes out 'a')

Following Kyo's motions, he froze when he saw the gas station, "Oh hell no."

He didn't want to chance setting off an explosion and attracting zombies.

[Vilkas]

"Need holp" Kyo whispered.

[Erika]

Sam wandered the streets, not knowing, nor caring where she ended up. Stopping in he rtracks, she spotted a hunter, and a human. Taking a double take, she saw it was the one who had escaped. Hearing gugling sounds, she turned to it, weapon drawn and saw the boomer. Seeing the gas station made her hesitate, but she was already pissed enough to shoot.

Thinking better of it, she ran to the hunter and human, and yelled. "RUN!! NOW!!!"

Kyo pulled Jack's fleeve and tried to get him to flee. "Bompa baad"

[Erika]

Sam caught up to them, and saw the hunter pulling on the humans sleeve. "He is right. I know from experience." She said. Looking at the hunter, she remembered his name. "Kyo." She whispered.

Startled, Jake looked up and saw the girl, "Wha?"

Not hesitating, he looked down at Kyo, "Come with me Kyo." He started running away from the gas station.

[Vilkas]

Kyo closed his eyes and ran behind Jack. Bompa always made him cringe when they died.

[Erika]

Sam looked at Kyo, and swore. Looking back at the boomer, she took aim with her gun, and fired a shot. Then made a hasty retreat, following Kyo, and the strange human.
