Ben got up, 'You want cereal?'

Erika stayed in his arms. "Oatmeal." She said outloud. 'Please daddy.' She said through her mind.

Ben grinned, 'Thankfully, I can cook with only one hand.'

He walked into the kitchen, 'You want apple bits with your oatmeal?'

Erika licked her lips, and nodded her head. 'Syrup, and chocolate.' She said.

'So, apples, syrup and chocolate?' He said as he put the oats in to a pot.

Erika nodded, and kissed him on the cheek. 'Yes please.' She yawned, just as her tummy growled.

Erika giggled, and kissed him on the cheek again. 'New mommy coming to visit again?' She asked curiously.

Deciding to leave the oatmeal to simmer for a little, he pulled over a chair and sat down. He put Erika on his knee, 'I have to explain something.'

'She'll probably visit again, yes. But, I have to work for her. Please don't say anything about that, at least for now, please.'

Erika listened to him, and nodded. 'When will she be my new mommy?' She asked. 'Why can't I tell her?'

'I don't know when. And I don't want you to tell her, because I don't want to scare her off. I like her. A lot.'

Erika frowned, and hopped off his knee. 'You tell her.' She said, before going into the living room, and playing with her lego set.

'Your oatmeal will be done soon, Eri.' He thought to her as he stirred the oatmeal as it began to thicken.

Erika nodded, and built a castle. She smelled the oatmeal, and went to the kitchen.

Ben ladled the oatmeal into a bowl, then cut an apple into chunks, dumped in it, then gave the chocolate and what she wanted for her to put on, 'Here, you go. I have to go make a call.'

Erika nodded. She took a big handful of chocolate and added it. She then took the syrup bottle and poured it in. Taking her spoon she mixed it all up, and started to eat it. 'Daddy me like.' She told him, happily while she ate.

'I'm glad you like it.'

He picked up the phone and dialed the school's number.

"Ms. Rollin's here."

"Mirriam."

"Oh, Ben. What's wrong?"

"I'm keeping Erika home today."

"Oh, okay. Hope she feels better soon."

"Thanks Mirriam."

"See you later Ben."

"Umm... Mirriam. I was planning on going to a new movie with Erika later tonight. I was wondering if you'd like to join us."

She sounded taken aback, "Sure. Why not."

"Meet you at your place?"

"Sure."

"See you tonight around six."

"Okay, see you later." A click signaled that she had hung up.

Ben pumped his fist, "Yes!"

Erika had heard the conversation. She finished eating, and snuck up behind Ben. She grabbed his leg. 'Daddy and mommy in love.' She said.

He picked Erika up and held her in his arms, 'I love her, but the question is, does she love me?'

Erika hugged Ben. 'Mommy don't love daddy?' She said, in a sad voice.

Ben grinned, a big, silly, wide grin, 'Not yet. But she will. Get cleaned up, we have some shopping to do.'

Erika kissed Ben on the cheek. 'Daddy give me a bath?' She asked.

Ben sighed, 'Get the water running. I'll give you a bath. I have to clean up a little.'

Erika nodded, and jumped out of his arms. She ran to the bathroom, and ran the water. She stripped from her pjs and went into the tub. She sighed as the warm water touched her skin.

Ben sighed and began to pick up the bowl, and some of Erika's toys.

Putting them away, he went to the bathroom, he sat on the toilet, 'Eri's having fun?'

He dumped her bath toys in with her.

Erika took her rubber duck, and played with it. She splashed and giggled as she played. Looking up from her fun, she took a pail of water and threw it at Ben. 'Daddy all wet.' She said.

Ben held out his hand, his telepathy freezing the water in place, he deposited it back into the tub, 'Denied.'

Erika frowned. She slid herself so that she was under the water. Her toys floating above her, she stayed at the bottom of the tub holding her breath, eyes closed.

Ben smiled as he took control of a bubble, and made it fly up Erika's nose.

Erika bolted out of the water, coughing. 'Not fair.' She said.
