Aramil leaned back in his chair, taking slow sips from a glass of wine, he sighed with satisfaction. The greatest achievement of his life; creating life itself.

There were those who called him a heretic, a phony... He'd show them.

"Come Kita. We have work to do."

Kita ran to Master "What is to be doing Nya~?"

"You'll see Kita." Getting up from the chair, he put down his glass of wine and stretched, "But first, let us rest. Tomorrow, we have a lot of travelling to do."

"As you wish Nya~" Kita yawned tiredly.

~*The Next Morning*~

Aramil woke up with the sun. Yawning widely, Aramil swept off his bed sheets and sat up, legs over the side, he looked behind him at the empty space and sighed, he hated being alone.

But now, he wasn't completely alone, he did have Kita...

Standing up, he walked over to the wardrobe and opened it. He began to choose out a suit for the coming day's activities.

Kita looked up from his spot on the closet floor with sleep-filled eyes.

"G'morning master, Nya~"

Aramil smiled and bent down and gave Kita a small kiss on the forehead, "And a good morning to you Kita."

Picking out a suit, he hung it on the closet door and walked towards the bathroom door, turning around, "Kita? If you want to sleep a little more, go ahead, I might be a while."

Kita crawled out of the closet, jumped onto the bed and promptly curled into a ball to sleep.

~*An Hour Later*~

Aramil sighed with relief as he stepped out of the bathroom, steam trailing at his heels, clean shaven and fresh.

Walking over to the closet, he took the suit that he had chosen and slowly put it on.

When he was done, he walked over to the bed. Gently shaking Kita's shoulder, "Wakey, wakey, Kita. It's time to go."

[Vilkas]

Kita stretched as he yawned and asked "where do we be going Nya~?"

As he walked down the hall, Aramil looked at Kita, "We have quite a few places to go. One, we have a convention to go to."

Kita tilted his head as he went to Master and asked "Con... ven... tion?

"Big meeting." Stopping for a moment, he turned to Kita, "I'm doing this to show people that your Master isn't crazy. To stop them from hurting me."

Picking up his briefcase and hat, he took a step towards the front door, "Let us go. The car is waiting."

[Vilkas]

Kita followed behind Master very closely. Outside scared him.

Aramil opened the back car door for Kita, "Come now. No reason to be afraid Kita."

Kita jumped in and excitedly looked around.

Aramil grunted slightly as he climbed into the driver's seat, putting his key into the ignition, he started the car. Turning so he could look at Kita, "You buckled in, little one?"

He knew that he had taken Kita out for a drive a few days ago, shortly after his birth, but he couldn't remember if he had taught him how to buckle in.

Kita sat back and buckled in, beaming with pride like a child, and said "buckled in, nya~"

Smiling, Aramil turned back around and put the car into drive. Pushing on the gas, the car whined a little as it hadn't been used since before he had started the project that gave birth to Kita, but it began to move.

Winding his way down the path, Aramil's mind began to deviate towards the coming symposium and people's reactions to what he had done.

Kita's eyes were glued to the window, watching trees and people as they passed. Kita had a simple mind. He found pleasure in things people found trivial.

Aramil watched Kita in the rear view mirror and smiled, Just like a child... He will learn soon enough though. He sighed.

They still had a little ways to go till they would reach the venue.

Kita started fidgeting with his tail. He never liked being still for long.

Aramil pulled the car into the parking lot and into a free spot. Turning off the engine, Aramil stepped out of the car and stretched, "Well, we're here." He grabbed his briefcase and hat and closed his door. Opening Kita's door, he beckoned him out, "We're here Kita."

People on the sidewalk stared slightly when they saw Kita there with tail and ears. Aramil ignored them.

"Master, why do they stare at me Nya~?"
