Tala Drappa

Tala landed infront of the door. Folding her wings, she stood with her hands on her heart, and her eyes closed. She then began to sing.

Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes
And when again they open, the sun will rise.

Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true

After she finished her song the door began to emit a soft glow of golden light. Then it slowly started to open. Tala opened her eyes to see it if it had worked. Seeing that it had, she smiled. "Mother." She whispered to herself.

Togda stared at Tala and the now open door, mouth agape, "What the? How- How?" He turned and pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed in exasperation, "I don't want to know how you managed that, but that's one obstacle down..."

[Erika]

Tala turned to Togda, with a smile on her face. Hearing and seeing his reaction, she hung her head, and walked through the door. 'I have upset him.' She thought to herself. 'Why did I have to sing the song my father sang to me before he died?' Tala berated herself, but she also praised herself.

Togda put a hand on Tala's shoulder and pulled her into a hug, "Thank you. I'm just glad that the door is open. Got your sword? Get ready!" He let go of her as he unsheathed the rapier from the sheath on his left hip.

[Erika]

Tala let him hug her. Returning it, she let go just as he did. "I always have my sword." She said, drawing it from her back and readying herself to fight.

Togda burst through the door, taking a demon guard by surprise, he immediately stabbed the rapier through the demon's jaw. The tip of the blade protruded slightly from the back of the demon's neck.

Yanking the sword back, the demon dropped to the floor in a heap. He spat on the body, "One down, hordes to go."

[Erika]

Tala sighed, as she followed him. "You always have to have a morbid sense of humour during a battle." She said, in a soft voice.

He just shrugged, "Yes, and?" He grinned slightly when he remembered what he was like at the beginning of his journey.

With his back to the wall, he closed his eyes trying to find the locations of anymore demons.

[Erika]

Tala picking up anger from Togda, stayed silent. Shuffling her wings, she gave him space. She remembered what he was like when they started this journey.

Togda smiled, "No need to distance yourself from me, I need you to have my back right now."

[Erika]

Tala nodded, and came closer to him. "I just wanted to gove you space, because of your temper." She said softly, her voice filled with worry.

He raised an eyebrow but said nothing, there would be time enough for talking after this.

Poking his head out from around the corner, he peered down the hallway, he could see about six demons standing at attention at regular intervals, "Curses. They're armed too. Keep to the shadows and take them out one by one. Tala, take to the air, distract them, these aren't the one with magic."

[Erika]

Tala sighed. "Very well." She said. Taking to the air, she flew above him, then into the view of the Demons. "Come get me." She said, her sweet voice, sounding threatening. "Come and get me you bastards." She flew just out of their range of fire, but stayed close enough to deflect weapons from Togda.

The demons distracted, they quickly fell to Togda and the other elves, at the other end of the hall, he called to Tala to come down, "Good work m'love."

[Erika]

Tala landed next to him, snd shuffled her wings. "You're welcome." She said, her voice cold, and filled with hatred. The demons presence was having an affect on her. "Lets kill some more bastards, and restore you to the throne." Her voice softened slightly, but it was still filled with the hate she felt burning inside her.

Putting a hand on the top of her head, he muttered a short spell, "That ought to cleanse you of the demonic influence and protect you from being affected anymore."

[Erika]

Tala wrapped her arms around him, and began to shake. Her hatred left her body, and she felt vulnerable. "Togda, I'm sorry." She said, her voice soft, and shaky. "I don't want to be a fallen angel."

Togda shook his head, "Might I remind you that you've already been there, and have returned?"

[Erika]

Tala nodded, and looked at him. "That may be so, but I don't want to go through it again." Her voice soft with hints of sadness. "Let's go. We need to defeat the demons and return you to the throne." Tala backed away from Todga, and looked down the hall where more demons waited in the darkness of the halls. 'Four more floors to go.' She thought to herself. Looking back at Togda, her heart gave a leap. He was so close to reclaiming what was his. Her heart was filled with pride, and love for him. Turning away, she hung her head. 'When all is done, will he still want me?' Her thoughts were starting to make her doubt herself.
