Shade

[Shade]

Shade follows Echo and their father. "Is this going to be close-quarters or open field?"

[Erika]

Cheif didn't turn around to answer his son, he merely kept walking. "They are being held in a covenant ship."

Echo caught her fathers tone, and wisely kept quiet. Something was bugging him, and she knew better than to anger him.

[Shade]

Shade had also caught his father's tone and had turned to a private COM channel with his sister. "So it's close-quarters. I hope you're willing to keep me hidden."

[Erika]

Echo smirked. "Of course brother." She responded. "We're a team."

Cheif was lost in thought as he walked to the shuttlebay. He had a feeling this mission was going to be harder than the rest.

[Shade]

Shade unsheathed his knife and ran a bare finger along the blade, blood trickling from the fresh wound. "Perfect sharpness. Good for slitting the throat of a fully armored Elite."

[Erika]

Echo sighed. "Put the knife away brother." She said. "You will have your opportunity to kill the elites soon enough."

Cheif shook his head, and ignored his offspring. Something about this mission just didn't feel right.

[Shade]

Shade sheathed his knife and looked at the Master Chief. "Something's a bit... Off... I know it, but can't seem to put my finger on what's wrong."

[Erika]

Echo sighed. Talking through the main channel now, she spoke slowly. "I feel it too, but thats no reason to lose our heads in this. We are going to need all our wits for this mission."

Cheif turned around, and looked at his daughter, then his son. "Echo is right." He said, then he turned back around, and continued walking to the shuttle.

[Shade]

Shade followed in silence, checking his Assault Rifle's ammo. 25 rounds. He then reloaded it and holstered it.

[Erika]

Echo saw the Pelican, and saluted a soldier nearby.

Cheif kept walking, and boarded the Pelican. He waited for his offspring to join him.

Echo boarded as well, spotting the soldier watching her, she nodded at him, and then sat down beside her father.

[Shade]

Shade hesitated, but boarded the Pelican as well, sitting beside his sister. He looked around the ship, curious about every detail of it. "This, again, is quite the ship."

[Erika]

Echo chuckled, and turned to her brother. "Yes it is." She said, turning away, she saw the soldier staring at her as the door closed. Thinking to herself, she said 'I wish I could have had a normal life.' She felt the ship take off, and she mentally prepared herself for the mission.

[Shade]

Shade looked over to Echo. "What do you mean, sis? Don't you like fighting the Covenant?"

[Erika]

Echo sighed. "Fighting all these years has made me feel like this is the only life available. I just wish that I could have had a normal life before the covenant invaded." She said sadly.

Chief looked at her, and shook his head. "This is the only life worth living. Saving the galaxy is our job."

Echo looked at Chief, and nodded. "Yes father." She said, her voice now without emotion.

[Shade]

Shade looked back at his sister, and began to feel what she had felt. "I understand what you mean now, Echo. And I wish you had the option to leave. But unfortunately, none of us get that option until the Covenant is defeated." Shade sighed and looked at the ground. "If only we're lucky enough."

[Erika]

Echo sighed. "One day." She said.

Chief looked at her, and shook his head. "Focus on the mission, not your dreams." He said.

Echo nodded, and stayed silent. She hoped one day they would all be a normal family.

[Shade]

Shade looks over at his father and nods. He loved being a Spartan and killing the covenant, but he had also wanted to take a break and maybe play a few games with Echo. He then looked over at a marine and then down at his rifle.

[Erika]

Echo and Chief both stayed silent. They both had to get ready for the mission.

[Shade]

Shade had readied himself for what he was about to enter.

[Erika]

The Pelican landed on the covenant ship. The door opened, Echo and Chief then jumped out of the Pelican, and onto the ship. Grabbing a hold of the ship, they hung on waiting for Shade to join them.

[Shade]

Shade hopped out of the Pelican and grabbed hold of the Covenant ship, then proceeded to pull out his combat knife, ready to hop into the ship and assassinate the first few Covenant scum they were to come across.

[Erika]

Chief opened the hatch, and held it open for them.

Echo jumped down, and crouched behind one of the covenants small flyers. She waited for the others to join her.

[Shade]

Shade dropped in, silently landing just behind an Elite, his knife drawn and ready to kill.

[Erika]

Echo saw her brother land, and got ready.

Chief dropped in, and looked around. He shot an elite across the room, and then all hell broke lose.

Echo shot some grunts, and advanced slowly towards the door leading to the prison.

[Shade]

Shade stabbed the Elite in the back of the neck as he pulled out his shotgun and fired a shell off into the face of another Elite.

[Erika]

Echo waited at the other side of the room. She took her computer, and hacked into the ships system. "Two minutes before the door opens." She yelled.

Cheif covered her, while she worked. "Hurry up." He ordered.

[Shade]

Shade walked over, blue blood coating some of his armor. He placed his hand on his sister's shoulder as he waited for the door to open.

[Erika]

Echo smiled under her helmet at her brothers touch. "Almost done." She announced. Suddenly the door hissed, and began to open. "Got it." She said happily, as she unhooked her portable computer, and replaced it in her pack.

Chief nodded in approval. "Lets go." She said, as he cautiously made his way through the door.

[Shade]

Shade followed the two of them, watching their backs to make sure nothing sneaks its way behind them.

Echo and Chief kept there guns at the ready, they didn't want to go in unprepared.
