No More Heroes Empty No More Heroes

Post  Vilkas Mon Sep 03, 2012 3:04 pm

In the Kingdom of Marinth, Heroes in ancient times sealed away a powerful evil, but years later that seal is breaking and monsters have begun to invade. It is up to those who are brave enough to seek out the heroes of old throughout the seven lands and invoke their power to destroy this great evil once and for all

Seven Lands
  • Fok'Rith - Land of Fire. A large desert with a few villages here and there, the only city having been destroyed years ago.
  • Dikoji - Land of Darkness. A land of eternal night. Not that it matters since the trees and gnarled branches blot out the sky. No one dares venture there after a skilled adventurer disappeared in the darkness years ago.
  • Fathur - Land of Purity. At first glance one would think that the people of Fathur were poor, nothing is made with stone and much of the houses that have been made are covered by growing vines, but this is just the way of the people. Be at peace with everything but true darkness
  • Marak - Land of Unity and center of Marinth. A true fortress. The land is surrounded by thick walls and 24/7 sentries. Marak is home to Queen Mara in castle Fir'ko
  • Jathun - Land of Forests. The people of this land live as one with the forest, building their homes in them and hunting only out of necessity
  • Yaseer - Land of Fertility. Yaseer has a few farming hamlets here and there, though recently have had to turn from farming and on to swordsmanship to protect their homes from monsters.
  • Karith - Land of Steel. An underground civilization with homes dug out into the very walls of the mine the people dig

Rules
1) The Usual
2) Magic is strictly elemental, the exceptions being Light and Dark magics. Light is primarily healing with little to offer offense-wise. Dark magic is a corrupting magic that preys on the mind. Dark magic practitioners can also use stronger forms of the other elements, this is called 'Cracked' magic. Cracked magic can be identified by its unusual color. Dark magic is fueled by either one of two things: the practitioners life, or their sanity. Light magic is rarely used because it is seen as weak in these times, and there is no one left to teach anyone Dark magic(My character Pon can teach anyone that wants their character to use Dark magic)
2) There are three races in Marinth:
The Fae - A race of humanoids with insect-like wings, pointed ears, and intricate birthmarks. They are usually thieves or assassins.
Daemons - Pitch black shadows with fiery eyes and flaming hair. These master magicians are born from stones after being submerged in a specific element for 11 days. Whatever element they were born in is the element of magic they can master. Daemons speak telepathically but can make noises akin to laughing or grunts.
Humans - Plain, boring humans

No More Heroes Empty Faust

Post  Vilkas Tue Sep 04, 2012 1:31 am

Faust hummed in disappointment as he failed yet again to find someone to journey with him. He knew where most of the Heroes Tombs were, but whenever he asked someone to join him they either ran away or apologized for not being brave or strong enough.

How sad

No More Heroes Empty Edwin Onew

Post  evan..relic Thu Sep 06, 2012 9:35 am

Edwin smiled as he walked down the market street, he was getting hungry. Stopping for a moment, he considered going to one of the vendors or to the baker's.

Suddenly there was a yell behind him, he whipped around in time to see a young lady fall and spill a large jug of water. Reflexively raising his right hand, the water froze in mid air. Walking over to the woman he helped her up with his left, then reached for the jug and guided the water back into the container. Handing the jug back to the woman, "Here you go." He smiled.

She took the jug gratefully, "Thank you kind sir." She smiled and continued on her way.

He sighed contently, he liked helping anyone he could. Making up his mind, he started walking towards the baker's.

No More Heroes Empty Lucis

Post  The Family God Thu Sep 06, 2012 9:48 am

Lucis continuously hammered away at a rock wall in front of her, her pickaxe swinging almost as strongly as the miners next to her. She had been 'conscripted' by her father to gather some raw materials for the forge. They were beginning to run out of the basic materials, ranging from simple copper to iron, and mining for them was the cheapest option. In the mining groups that Lucis could join, you were either paid for the work you did, or your payment would be a select amount of the resources you mined out. Trouble was, she couldn't quite see what materials she was chipping away at, due to her unusual way to see.

She had become so hard-pressed at this monotonous swinging, that she didn't quite hear the mining group's leader calling to her. Before anyone could stop her, she smashed the rock wall, a sudden outburst of heat filling her view with bright white. She yelped loudly, instinctively shielding her eyes from the light. Trouble was, the floor beneath her fell out alongside the wall, causing her to fall down onto some strange material that was VERY cold. All the same, the floor she landed on was sloped and quite slippery, sliding at a rapid rate downward. Coupled with bright light, quick movement, and the cold environment, she had absolutely no idea where she was going. Scream as she might, she couldn't slow her chaotic descent.

Please let me land on a mattress... she thought to herself.

Faust bowed and said "My name be Faust, be teaching at Library of Magic. Been seeing signs and am sure we be needing to invoke Heroes of Old. Chaste Hero be invoked by me, but others be needed. Found Hero That Fell, but she already be invoked. You be helping me?"

((Pon was the one that invoked the Fallen Hero, or as Faust calls her 'The Hero that Fell'. That is why he has access to the lost Dark/Cracked Magics))
--------------
Pon walked the Dark land and suddenly fell. Assessing that someone landed on him he said "God fell on me... wants a piggyback?"

Edwin's eyes bulged, "The Heroes of Old? Invoke? Me?" He stuttered.

Everything that he had read rushed through his head, then he came to a decision, "I will." He nodded firmly.

No More Heroes Empty Lucis

Post  The Family God Thu Sep 06, 2012 10:01 am

Lucis felt herself finally slow down, grateful her descent hadn't been stopped by a sharp rock of any sort. Looking down to what had stopped her from breaking something, she registered a humanoid heat signature. Her mind finally done processing the male's question, she quickly jumped off the male, trying to regain her wits after what had just happened.

"Oh, ehm...hi, uhh...sorry...ugh, why's the temperature so strange out here? The ground is cold, the sky is hot, and the air is warm...where am I, exactly?" she asked, some stray snowflakes that had reached her legs starting to melt and cause her to shiver.

Lucis shifted uncomfortably, "C-can you see anyway for me to...to get back home from here?" she asked the male nervously, the word 'Dikoji' reminding her of the many children's stories she had her mother read to her growing up.

Lucis blinked once, processing what the male had said. "Er...then, ehm..." she stuttered, searching for the right words to say in this situation, "Could you tell me the fastest route back into Karith, then?" she then asked, having finally composed her sentence.

No More Heroes Empty Lucis

Post  The Family God Fri Sep 07, 2012 5:28 am

Lucis shivered, whether it was the male's words or the cold powder she had slid on, she didn't know. Lucis nervously thought to herself that this male, however strange he seemed, might actually be able to help her out. It's not like she could figure her own way back, especially since this place was already messing with her vision. "Then...where to?" she asked, still having issues finding words.

Lucis frowned slightly, "Well..Pon didn't exactly introduce me..." she paused for a moment, a realization striking her, "Well...I didn't exactly introduce myself either..." she muttered.

Turning to face Pon properly, she held out her right hand, "My name's Lucis...just Lucis."

No More Heroes Empty Lucis

Post  The Family God Fri Sep 07, 2012 5:47 am

Lucis felt a thick liquid touching her hand when Pon poked her, looking down instinctively. In her thermal vision, she could see a the word 'Hi' written on her palm for all of a few seconds before whatever it was had taken on her body temperature, the word fading into her palm out of her view. Lucis blinked, looking to Pon in silence, utterly confused as to why he would do that, let alone what liquid that was.

Lucis looked to her hand, where the word had once been. "That...was blood?" she asked, nervousness seeping back into her voice. She shuddered, letting her hand fall back to her side, all the while turning back to face Pon. "Well...no point standing here and freezing, right?" she forced a chuckle.
