Walking to the golden card, he slowly picked it up. Looking at it, he could feel the intense energy coming off of it. Tucking it into a pocket on the inside of his vest, he suddenly collapsed, tiredness and soreness crashing down on him like a tidal wave.

Breathing heavily, he pushed himself up, now was not the time to take a nap.

Slowly he trudged back through the Cloudvents, at the opening of the tunnel that would lead him back to the throne room, he began limping, his left leg in pain. Biting his tongue, he walked back into the throne room.

A guard told Zaerath that the king, the alfardian and his companions could be found in the guest room in the west wing of the castle.

Zaearth nodded, taking a deep and sharp breath, he limped through the castle, hoping to find the West Wing.

Finally arriving at the door, he knocked several times before slumping against the door frame.

[Vilkas]

Lier answered the door and immediately pulled Kaerath inside and onto a chair. Patch saw the blood and, finishing the bandages on the unconscious alfardian, went straight to helping Kaerath with an irritated "you're lucky I finished with the soldier, I can't multi-bandage"

Zaerath chuckled, "I guess I am." He breathed a sigh of relief, "How is Torin over there?"

[Vilkas]

Lier looked over at the alfardian and said "Stable, but he lost a lot of blood. How long was he injured? He lost almost two pints"

Zaerath shrugged, "Maybe ten minutes plus however long it took for me to defeat the Lord of the Winds."

[Vilkas]

Lier stared at the alfardian a bit longer before saying "speaking of which, did you recover the magnus?"

[evan..relic]

Zaearth nodded, "I did. But I'm not bringing it out. Bastard Gaurdian screwed up my leg. I'm keeping this one close to me."

[Vilkas]

Lier closed his eyes and said "now we must decide what to do about the alfardian--" Patch interrupted with a sharp "kill 'im." Lier simply smacked Patch in the back of the head and replied "No, killing him will serve no purpose."

[evan..relic]

"And it might enrage the rest of Alfard against us and Diadem. That's the last thing we need." Zaerath leaned back in his chair, his leg twinged, "Ow." He muttered.

[Vilkas]

"You think anyone in Mintaka cares about others beyond how to use them?" Torin replied wearily

[evan..relic]

"I suppose not." Zaerath sighed and shook his head, he shifted slightly in his chair.

[Vilkas]

Torin held a hand in front of his face and said "I am now a traitor and a coward in their eyes..." He let his hand fall to his side and continued "do what you will with me, I have nothing left"

[evan..relic]

Zaerath slowly stood and tested his weight on his leg, slowly walking over to Torin, "Listen I have nothing against you, how about you join us? You seem to be more honorable than others in that army, and you almost seem...different. As if you never wanted to join the Imperial Army in the first place, Almost as if you were forced into it."

He could feel Therasa watching carefully.

[Vilkas]

Torin glanced at the man standing next to him and replied "You could say that..."

"Then why stay devoted to that cause?" Zaearath smiled, then a thought hit him, "You were forced to join the Imperial Army, weren't you?"

[Vilkas]

"Not at first..." Torin replied. Lier quirked an eyebrow and said "that will require an explanation." Torin sighed and said "must I? It hardly seems important"

[evan..relic]

"No, you don't have to." Zaerath shook his head, "Do you want to help us? Fight against an oppressor like Geloblame. Fate, if you would believe in that, delivered you out of that hell and to us. We're your friends...Well I am."

[Vilkas]

Lier nodded and said "I bear no ill-will, but by aiding us you may gain the forgiveness of young Patch"

Patch got up and yelled "Forgiveness?! I'll never forgive Alfard for what they did! For what they're still doing!" Patch then ran out of the room. Torin slowly got out of bed, only to fall to his knees. He looked over at the other two and said "I have been a fool, hopelessly resigned to what I thought to be Fate. I see now that I was wrong. I will aid you if I can"

"Thank you."

Watching as Patch ran out of the room, he sighed, "How can you blame one man for the transgressions of a country?" He said to himself.

[Vilkas]

"People do it all the time," Lier replied as he helped Torin to his feet "when at war, one does not stop to guess the motivations of the people they fight. Alfardian Soldier or Alfard itself, it makes little difference"

Zaerath shrugged, "To be honest, I'm not used to this kind of thing. In Mira, in Reverence, things were...quiet aside from those damn robots."

Gingerly testing his leg again, he found it could support more of his weight, "We should move, Geldoblame or whoever is behind this, already has two of the End Magnuses in their possession, and we one. I'm scared of what this might mean if they get their mitts on any more." Turning to Torin, "In case I haven't introduced myself, I am Zaerath."

[Vilkas]

"A pleasure" Torin replied. Lier nodded his head and said "Lier Kalas" Torin nodded back. Torin looked at Zaerath and said "The King is in his chambers. He may know more about where we may find the End Magnus"

"I would hope so..." Zaerath left the thought hanging and started walking towards the door.
