Uncanny Valley

Day 1 - I was traveling through a remote forest and I found myself utterly lost. I found a small village and was welcomed warmly by its inhabitants.

Day 2 - Everyone is nice to me. Too nice. I need to do some research...

Day 10 - I want to go, but now everyone shuns me. What's going on?

Day 18 - something isn't right... I think it's time to go...

Rules
1) The usual
2) No one can be from the village. I will have a character from there only to help explain what's going on in the village. I state this only to keep the rp simple.
3) You can use any excuse to get your character into the forest, be creative.

Judas walked through the woods, humming the village song while he collected berries along the path. He held his basket in one hand as he adjusted his veil. He sang under his breath
