Byron jumped slightly, he turned, "You..." He pointed a shaking finger at Natsu, taking a deep breath, "Village?"

[Vilkas]

Natsu nodded and, flipping through the pages of his father's book, read aloud "The Village of Suffering. A village created and ruled by four denizens"

((The book won't be 100% accurate because of who wrote it, but it will be good for insight))

Byron shook his head, "Four...denizens? What?"

((Poor Byron, he's so disorientated.))

[Vilkas]

"Th-that's all the book says about them... 'Four Denizens'" Natsu replied sadly.

A voice from the shadows chuckled and said "that's it? Whoever wrote that book was kinda lazy if that's all they found"

((Meet Jack XD He's kinda a creeper at first))

Byron jumped even higher, "W-w-who's t-t-there?"

[Vilkas]

A man walked out of the shadows and said "relax Shivers, I'm not a ghost. They don't go past these gates from some reason" Natsu hid behind the white hared man and asked "Wh-who are you? Wh-wh-what ghosts?" The man sighed irritatedly and replied "The name's Jack Pierce. Each of these gates here lead to a sort of... mini village, for lack of a better term"

Byron took a deep breath, "I'm Byron." He said slowly, "And what do you mean, ghosts? And they don't go past the gates?"

[Vilkas]

"Ghosts. You know, spirits, souls, all that shit? They don't cross the gates because this area is like No Man's Land between the four Head Honchos"

"So...we're safe here?" Byron said shortly.

Then it dawned on him, "Where are we? Last thing I remember was falling asleep."

[Vilkas]

"If memory serves, the kid behind you said 'The Village of Suffering'" Jack said as he looked around the dreary and empty area in which they stood. "Cheery place. May build a summer home here"

Byron snorted, "Sarcasm."

[Vilkas]

"Hey, we're all stuck here together, right?" Jack said as he leaned on the brown gate "May as well try and help save each other. Wander around together, share info, all that boy scout crap" Jack approached Byron and extended his hand

"Deal?"

Byron eyed Jack's hand, then took it, "Deal."

[Vilkas]

Jack smiled and said "Great! Now, which gate should we try? I only explored a bit through each, always ended up back here after waking up. Brown leads to Rope Bitch(Kirie), Red leads to Homicidal Bitch with a death fetish(Sae), Blue leads to Tattooed Bitch(Reika), and Yellow leads to Blurry Faced Bitch(Sakuya)"

Byron looked around at the gates, a thought struck him, "Are there ways to fight the ghosts? I know it sounds absurd, but there has to be something we can do."

[Vilkas]

"Oh, I completely forgot!" Jack replied as he searched the many pockets of his cargo pants. He procured four blue stakes with a snake and holly design on them and explained "There's this note I found that explained something called the Etching Ritual. Use the stake with the snake head on top to draw blood from your chest, then carve a sword hilt into your arm. Next take the stake with the holly leaf on top to draw blood from your face, then carve a blade attached to the hilt. Use the stake with the mirror on top to redraw the same thing on the other arm. And finally, use the stake with the snake eye on top to deepen the carvings in your arms to seal the deal" Jack showed his arms to let the other two see the final product of the ritual. Rather than having scars, the carvings looked like tattoos.

Natsu hesitated, but he did the ritual. It hurt a lot, but just like Jack his carvings became tattoos.

Byron did the ritual as well, biting his tongue in his pain.

Finishing the ritual, he groaned, "Ow..." He muttered, "So you're sure that this will help?"

[Vilkas]

"That's what the note said. Signed by 'Kami-sama'. Can we say 'God complex'" Jack replied

((Going to the store. be back in a bit))

Rubbing his hands together, "Alright...What now?"

[Vilkas]

Natsu thought and said "we... pick a gate?"

Byron looked around at the four gates, "Why not the red one?"

[Vilkas]

"Homicidal Bitch with a death fetish it is" Jack replied as he headed through the gate. Natsu hesitated a moment before following.

The Red Gate lead to a small village, nothing really stood out save for a tall tree behind two joined houses.
